Ackerman Union construction continues on levels A and B.
Completion date is October 1996. Tentative plans are made to move
the UCLA Store into Ackerman in December 1996.
Construction continues on the Bradley International Student
Center. Trucks enter and leave the site on Circle Drive West.
Flagmen are controlling traffic to minimize congestion.
The Brain Mapping construction consists of building office and
lab space to support a magnetic imager, and is located across the
street from the MacDonald Building and east of the Jerry Lewis
Building. Trucks enter and leave the site, causing minor traffic
delays. Flagmen will be directing traffic.
Construction continues at The Gonda (Goldschmied) Neuroscience
& Genetics Research Center, located on the northeast corner of
Westwood Plaza and Circle Drive South. Construction fencing
encloses one lane of traffic adjacent to the site on each street.
Pedestrian traffic is detoured through MacDonald Plaza to the west
side of Westwood Plaza and to the south side of Circle Drive South.
Dump trucks enter and leave the site; flagmen control and direct
traffic. MacDonald loading dock is open to vehicle access.
Kerckhoff Hall is currently open. Reinstallation of spires atop
the tower continues and will be completed in December 1996.
The Law Library expansion continues and will be completed in
June 1997. Trucks enter and leave the site, and traffic congestion
is present on Circle Drive East. Flagmen will be directing vehicle
and pedestrian traffic.
Rieber Hall Dining Room renovation continues; completion date is
January 1997.
Royce Hall seismic upgrade continues to strengthen the building
structure. Trucks enter and leave the site continually at Royce
upper loading docks. Flagmen direct trucks and pedestrians.
The Science & Technology Research Building construction
consists of foundation work to support the building. Delivery
trucks enter and leave the site through Midvale alley. Traffic
congestion will be minor.
The Young Hall South renovation continues, refurbishing and
up-dating freshman labs. Completion date is June 1997.
The Intramural (IM) Field is currently open to students. The
installation of lighting standards is completed on the north
athletic field.
