UCLA will send a group of B-team runners to Cal Poly Pomona
tomorrow for the Bronco Invitational while the top seven rest in
preparation for next week’s Pac-10 Championships in Palo Alto.
"The athletes that I will be sending out for that competition
are people that I consider to be either middle-distance runners who
don’t focus on the cross-country season at all–they use it more as
a way to develop their aerobic strength to prepare them for the
track season, or an athlete or two who needs a race." UCLA head
coach Eric Peterson said.
Among those traveling to Pomona will be sophomore Bethany Lucas
and junior Zalika Davis; Tracy Clark, who has not competed this
season, will get some much needed practice before the Pac-10 meet
and the regionals where she is slated to run.

Mortensen will be out for the remainder of the season with a
stress fracture of the sacrum. Her loss not only hurts the team’s
scoring, but
