Rembert will return to court

Reserve forward Ayesha Rembert was arraigned in court Monday on
charges of burglary and two related counts.

She did not enter a plea and had her case continued to June 6
for a pre-trial hearing in Superior Court.

The junior transfer from Marquette was indefinitely suspended
from the UCLA women’s basketball team following her arrest
Jan. 19 after the Bruins’ practice in Pauley Pavilion.

Team coaches and athletic department officials have not
specified whether the suspension and burglary charges were
related.

Rembert was charged with stealing several items, valued at over
$3,000, from UCLA junior Tiffiny Walls. The stolen items included a
laptop computer, a leather jacket and a pair of diamond-studded
earrings.

Several of the items, including the computer and jacket, were
returned to Walls, she said, via Federal Express on Jan. 14.
Rembert was first arraigned on Feb. 9, but received several
continuances before Monday’s hearing.

Rembert remains free on $30,000 bond.
