CRIME WATCH Vehicle Stolen Grand Theft Petty

Petty theft Five bicycles and seven cellular
phones were stolen on campus this past period. Last week, seven
parking permits were stolen. A $200 cellular phone was stolen from
a vehicle in Lot 32 Friday morning.
Grand theft Police received a report of a
stolen car last week. Someone reported a stolen credit card to
police on Saturday after someone charged an estimated $6,800 to the
card. Eight or nine bags of money were reported stolen from the
safe at Puzzles on Sept. 25. The amount of loss is unknown.
Miscellaneous Police arrested six men last week on
the 600 block of Landfair Avenue for walking in public with open
containers and balloons filled with nitrous oxide. A man was
reportedly harassing passersby in the underground parking lot of
Sproul Hall on Sunday. A woman reportedly slapped another woman
after they got into a traffic accident on the corner of Wilshire
Boulevard and Veteran Avenue on Friday. That same day, a woman who
was screaming at staff members at the Mathematical Sciences
building was apprehended and taken to the emergency room for
evaluation. A tree fell on a vehicle, causing major damage on
Westwood Boulevard near the Neuropsychiatric Center on Thursday.
Police received a report Thursday that a computer in Rieber Hall
was vandalized. An unauthorized subject threatened to pull the life
support from a patient in the Center for Health Sciences on
Wednesday. Also on Wednesday, an unidentified person was caught on
tape prying open mailboxes at an apartment complex on the 700 block
of Gayley Avenue. Someone was reportedly peeking into the bedroom
of an apartment on the 600 block of Landfair Avenue on Sept. 26. A
man was seen running naked through Lot 9 around 6 p.m. on Sept. 25.
That same night, a man threatened another person with a knife on
the 600 block of Gayley Avenue. Police received a secondhand report
of a fight breaking out in Tommy’s of Westwood just after 2
a.m. on Sept. 25. The fight was between one person and a group of
six other people.
