CRIME WATCH Vehicles Stolen Grand Theft Petty
Theft 2 $11,800 $2,995

Petty theft

Three parking permits and $455 in backpacks, wallets and
cellular phones were reported stolen to police last week.

Three bicycles, worth a total of $1,170, were stolen last week.
Also, three cars were broken into and the culprits stole textbooks,
compact discs and stereos worth a total of $920.

Someone stole two jackets and a sweater, worth a total of $250,
from a building on the 500 block of Gayley Avenue on Friday.

Someone stole another person’s credit card Thursday and
charged $120 to it. The same day, someone stole a wallet and jacket
from a locker in the Center for Health Sciences. The total loss was
$80.

Grand theft

A light blue 1996 Honda Accord parked on the 300 block of
Veteran Avenue and a green 1993 Toyota pickup in Lot 4 were stolen
last week.

Someone broke into a green 1998 Ford Expedition on the 500 block
of Kelton Avenue between 10 p.m. Thursday and 8:30 a.m. Friday and
stole a $3,000 stereo.

Someone reported that a car in Lot 8 was broken into between
Oct. 23 and 24. The culprit stole a disabled parking placard and
100 CDs worth $1,500.

Police received a report Wednesday that someone had opened a
credit card account in another person’s name and charged
$7,300 to that account between July 15 and Oct. 24.

Miscellaneous

Police received a secondhand report of 15 to 20 people exposing
themselves near Rieber Hall around 1 a.m. Sunday.

Police received a report Saturday that a woman in a white and
pink wedding gown, who was accompanied by a man dressed as the
devil, kicked another person on Westwood Boulevard at 2 a.m.

A man attempted to pass a counterfeit $100 bill at the Mann
Theatre on Broxton Avenue on Saturday.

A man was reportedly selling university identification cards at
the University Extension on Friday night.

Thursday night, a man threw a table at another person on the 500
block of Landfair Avenue. Also on Thursday, a man struck another
man near the De Neve Plaza construction site.

Police arrested a man on the 900 block of Gayley Avenue on Oct.
24 for brandishing a pellet gun.
