Field hockey drops game to UCSB
Last Sunday, the UC Santa Barbara women’s field hockey
team beat UCLA 2-1. The first half of the game ended scoreless.
Bruin freshman Emily Kawe was sent to the hospital because of a
follow-through back swing from the Gauchos. She received six
stitches.
Though the Bruins had only 10 players on the field against 11
Gauchos, UCLA scored first in the second half. With 10 minutes left
in the game, the Gauchos tied up the game, and the Bruins could not
hold off the Gauchos long enough. UCSB scored again in the final
seconds for the 2-1 victory.
UCLA’s next game is this Sunday against Moorpark at 1:30
p.m. on the IM field.

Men’s lacrosse begins preseason
The UCLA men’s lacrosse team opens their preseason with a
tournament this weekend at Loyola Marymount University. The
tournament is two days and features eight teams. Some of the
Bruins’ opponents will include Arizona State, USC, UCSD and
LMU.
The Bruins came in third place last year and look to improve on
that finish this year. Anybody interested in watching should come
out to LMU on both Saturday and Sunday. The tournament runs all
day.
The Club update runs every Thursday. Club presidents can send
submissions to [email protected] by
Wednesday at 2 p.m. to get them in that week’s edition.
