CRIME WATCH 1 Vehicle Stolen $16,671 Grand
Theft $1,640 Petty Theft

Petty thefts Six parking permits, six cellular
phones and several bags were taken this past period, amounting to a
loss of $3,961. Someone stole a blue 21-speed bicycle, worth $520,
from a bike rack outside Murphy Hall on Wednesday night. Someone
stole two industrial fans from The Anderson School at UCLA the
morning of Nov. 14. The total loss was $600.

Grand thefts Police received a report Saturday
that someone stole a $725 bronze women’s mountain bike from a
bike rack on the east side of Royce Hall. Wednesday afternoon,
someone smashed the window of a green 1992 Volkswagen Golf parked
at Veteran Avenue and stole a stereo and other items. The total
loss was approximately $940. Someone stole a bag of binoculars
Wednesday morning from the Botany Building. The amount lost was
$1,100. A black 1996 Honda Civic parked on Strathmore Drive and a
$2,000 digital video recorder from the Doris Stein Eye Research
Institute were stolen on Nov 14. Police received a report Nov. 14
that someone had stolen a $3,000 Macintosh laptop computer from The
Anderson School.

Miscellaneous Police received a report Friday
night of 15 drunk men removing fences at Drake Stadium. Someone
threw a block through a car windshield at the Fleet Services
Central Garage on Charles E. Young Drive South on Friday afternoon.
Police received a report Friday morning that someone spray painted
an “F” and “USC” on the tarp covering the
Bruin Bear. They also received a call of nine men wearing USC
sweatshirts attempting to remove the cover from the Bruin Bear
Wednesday night. The same night, someone broke lights in the
underground parking lot on the 500 block of Glenrock Avenue. Police
received reports of loud wrestling at the Saxon Suites and someone
egging the front of Hedrick Hall on Wednesday morning. Police
warned and advised a man on Nov. 14 against flashing a red laser
light at vehicles parked on the 500 block of Landfair Avenue.
