Crime Watch


Petty thefts Three bicycles, two backpacks and
four cellular phones were reported stolen this past period,
amounting to a loss of $2,757. Two stereos worth a total of $605
were stolen out of cars. Someone stole a cell phone and incurred
$1,100 in call charges.

Grand thefts A car was stolen from Lot 32
Friday night. Two laptops worth $4,500 were stolen from the Factor
Building on Friday morning. Two more laptops worth $4,000 were
reported stolen from Boelter Hall on Friday afternoon. A $1,200
fireplace urn was reported stolen from a Hilgard apartment
Wednesday morning. Miscellaneous property worth $850 was reported
stolen from the Law Library on Jan. 16.

Miscellaneous Police stopped and arrested a
juvenile on charges of marijuana possession early Saturday morning.
A suspect verbally harassed and attempted to strike another person
in a men’s rest room in the Math Sciences building on
Saturday morning. Someone reported they had been slapped at the
BioMedical building Saturday evening. Police reported possible lewd
conduct in a vehicle in Lot 10 Saturday night. Police received a
report of a bomb threat from the Math Sciences building on Friday
morning. A man called the building, said he was fed up with UCLA
and that he had planted bombs at Ackerman Union as well as
Kerckhoff, Sproul and Murphy Halls. Police intercepted a man Friday
afternoon near the Bruin Bear after reports that the subject was
harassing passers-by. A man matching the description of the person
police believe committed two recent bathroom assaults was stopped
near Murphy Hall on Friday afternoon. Police released the man after
questioning. Police stopped a person at the Center for Health
Services after receiving reports that the subject had kicked a
staff member Friday afternoon. Someone urinated on an office door
in the Center for Student Health Services on Jan. 16. That same
afternoon, someone threw hot coffee on another person in Ackerman
Union.
