Student Welfare Commissioner

  Peter Trinh Independent

Hello everyone, my name is Peter Trinh and I am running for the
position of student welfare commissioner. Being the in-house
candidate and having experience in the commission, I feel I am
definitely qualified for the position.

I have many things planned for the commission next year. One of
them is turning the huge student-run philanthropy that our
commission sponsors every year, the UCLA Children’s Walk for
Life, into a run as well as a walk. Another is bringing a
dance-a-thon to UCLA that will benefit the Elizabeth Glaser
Pediatric AIDS Foundation.

I believe the primary duty of the student welfare commissioner
involves dealing with issues pertaining to student health and
safety. That is why the commission this year has focused on
programming events that have increased awareness about issues
pertaining to health and safety. I intend to keep this focus on
student health and safety if elected to this office.

I believe that USAC members have a tremendous say on what goes
on within our campus and how our campus is run. If elected, I will
strive not only to make the student welfare commission as strong
and efficient as it can be, but to help other commissions and
offices as well.
