According to ESPN.com’s Andy Katz on Friday, the epic of
Spencer Gloger has not come to a close.
Head coach Steve Lavin announced on Wednesday that Gloger was
transferring back to Princeton, but Gloger has not withdrawn from
classes at UCLA, according to the Registrar’s Office. Gloger
is also currently enrolled at Princeton.
According to Katz, Gloger told Lavin that he might return to
UCLA by the weekend and be at individual workouts on Monday.
However, Gloger was nowhere to be found Monday at the Wooden
Center.
“I don’t know nothing about Spencer Gloger,”
senior forward Matt Barnes said. “I couldn’t tell you
where he’s at. I have no idea.”
Also in the ESPN.com report, Gloger has informed Princeton coach
John Thompson III that if he returns to Princeton, he will play
basketball, even though he originally told Lavin he wanted to focus
on academics and not play college basketball.
One-time UCLA signee Michael Fey could receive Gloger’s
scholarship if he can make the SAT cut in the fall and if Gloger
stays at Princeton.

Barnes tweaked his knee in a pick-up game at the Wooden Center
on Thursday, according to associate director of sports information
Bill Bennett. Barnes’ MRI on Monday was negative, and he
still needs to meet with team doctors for rehab. Despite the
injury, there doesn’t seem to be any serious cause for
concern.
“They thought I tore my meniscus,” Barnes said.
“(The MRI) was fine. It was clean. So I’m just going to
take a couple of days off and start playing on
Wednesday.”
