With three divers competing in nine different rounds, the UCLA
diving team concluded the Trojan Invitational on Saturday ““
their second meet of the season.
Ten schools joined at USC’s McDonald Swim Stadium.
On Thursday, the first day of competition, junior Heidi Prosser
finished fourth on the one-meter springboard with a 251.85
score.
The whole team was there on Saturday, supporting the three
competing Bruins. As each of the three divers climbed up the
several flights to the platform springboard, all of the competitors
cheered with them; the three days of the diving meet had brought
the schools together in support and, of course, competition.
At the end of the three-day invite, the Bruin team was already
looking forward to competing again.
“Everyone trained hard, and did well in their
events,” Brown said. “We’re not quite where we
want to be yet, but this is only our second meet, and everyone did
some good things out there. And we’re going to improve during
the rest of the season.”
Friday ended with three divers in the top 10 in three-meter
springboard. Prosser placed eighth with 435.50 points, followed by
Strack in ninth and Gosnell in 10th.
Three divers placed in the top 10 for platform, with junior
Regan Gosnell finishing in fourth place, freshman Janine Strack
finishing seventh and sophomore Michelle Brown in eighth.
