Foster talks
DeShaun Foster made his first public statements Wednesday since
his suspension following an NCAA “extra benefits”
violation. ESPN.com conducted a chat with the former UCLA tailback
in its live, moderated chat room.
ESPN.com asked its readers to submit questions for the chat.
None of the questions Foster answered were related to his
suspension from college football.
Foster chatted from Mobile, Ala., where he will play in the
Senior Bowl this Saturday.
“The scouts want to see you perform against the best and
the best are here. This game can make or break you so I want to
have a good game here and run well at the (NFL) Combine,”
Foster said. “That will determine where I go (in the NFL
Draft).”
“I am pretty confident about (being drafted in the first
round),” he added. “As long as I run fast and have good
practices here, I think I will go in the first round.”
ESPN.com could not be reached for comment.
Foster was suspended Nov. 7 after it was discovered that he was
driving a 2002 Ford Expedition owned by actor-director Eric
Laneuville. Foster missed the final three games of the season. He
had rushed for 12 touchdowns and 1,109 yards for UCLA before the
incident.
