Students should thank the university administration for
eliminating the last test scheduled for finals’ week, on
Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. beginning in spring quarter.
Not only do students’ anxiety to get out of school make
studying for that last test difficult, it’s also virtually
impossible when coupled with the pressure of having to move out of
the dorms. No more missing flights or paying extra to stay in the
residence halls; instead the formerly-Friday finals will be moved
to Monday at 6:30 p.m.
On-campus housing should mirror this decision by giving students
more freedom to stay through Friday if they have any finals on that
day.
So, in honor of the university’s bold move forward is a
list of the top five things you can do with your new Friday
freedom:
5. Eat a peanut butter sandwich because you already packed up
all your kitchen or because the dining hall is closed.
4. Get drunk.
3. Tell your roommate’s significant other how you really
felt about them sleeping over four nights a week.
2. Sit in traffic on the 405 freeway while trying to drive
home.
And … the number one thing to do with your Friday Freedom:
1. Compose a letter threatening your landlord with lawyers if
they don’t pay you all of your security deposit.
