Greco joins the WNBA’s Rockers

Former UCLA guard Michelle Greco was added to the roster of the
WNBA’s Cleveland Rockers last week.

She survived the first round of cuts today, but the Rockers do
not have to finalize their roster until their season opener on May
22.

The 5 foot, 9 inch Greco led the Pac-10 in scoring and steals
last season and helped the Bruins to an 18-11 mark. She is the No.
6 scorer in UCLA history with 1,707 points and is in the
Bruins’ all-time Top 10 in 11 different categories.

Greco was not drafted in the WNBA Draft earlier this month and
would likely play in Italy if she were cut.

Bruins tie USC in match play

UCLA and USC battled to a 3-3 tie in a match play event hosted
by USC at the Riviera Country Club on Monday.

“This is an event that both programs hope to continue for
many years,” UCLA Coach O.D. Vincent said. “It was a
competitive match, and it came down to the last shot.”

Pac-10 individual title champion John Merrick had a chance to
win the match for the Bruins on the final hole but missed an
eight-foot birdie putt. Merrick’s opponent, USC’s
Taylor Wood, sank a birdie right before Merrick’s putt to put
pressure on the Bruin, who had been leading by one stroke.
