Manning signs Carolina contract

Former UCLA standout cornerback Ricky Manning, Jr. will sign a
three-year contract worth $1.392 million with the Carolina
Panthers, according to ESPN.com. Manning was a third-round draft
pick and the 82nd overall selection in last month’s NFL
Draft.

Neither Manning nor tight end Mike Seidman, also a third-round
selection out of UCLA, will be allowed to practice at the start of
Carolina’s voluntary workouts Wednesday because of an NFL
rule that does not allow for participation while school is in
session.
