INJURY REPORT: The shoulder injury that senior
defensive tackle Rodney Leisle incurred in the fourth quarter
against Cal is not as serious as initially considered.
Leisle did not return to the game after the injury, but X-rays
came back negative for fractures, and it was determined he has a
bruised clavicle. His availability will be determined
day-to-day.
Junior cornerback Matt Ware is still nursing the high ankle
sprain he suffered at Arizona.
“Whether he can play will be determined at practice
time,” UCLA head coach Karl Dorrell said.
Senior defensive tackle Ryan Boschetti, sophomore wide receiver
Junior Taylor and senior linebacker Brandon Chillar all suffered
from dehydration against Cal, but they are all fine.
AWARD WORTHY: Sophomore linebacker Spencer
Havner and Chillar have been named Pac-10 Football Players of the
Week. Both were instrumental in UCLA’s 23-20 overtime victory
against Cal.
The special teams player of the week, Havner had two field goal
blocks, the second of which was returned 65 yards for a touchdown
by Chillar.
Chillar is the defensive player of the week after making a
game-high 12 tackles, eight of them solo.
“Chillar is playing lights-out football for us,”
Dorrell said. “We are hoping he continues on the pace he is
on.”
