Alum hired as NFL secondary coach The Baltimore
Ravens hired UCLA alumnus Johnnie Lynn as their
secondary coach on Monday. Lynn played at UCLA from 1975-1978 as a
defensive back and played for the New York Jets from 1979-1986.
Lynn was the defensive coordinator for the New York Giants the last
two seasons, but was released at the end of a 4-12 season.
“It is always a hard thing when you get released, because
normally you aren’t getting enough wins under your
belt,” Lynn told BaltimoreRavens.com. “You usually go
into a team with the same situation. To me, I am excited, because
I’m going to a good team that is in the playoffs, and I can
be excited about taking that next step.”

SOFTBALL: Former UCLA great Lisa
Fernandez
is teaming up with Mentium Events, LLC to create

Olympic gold medals and was a four-time All-American at UCLA. In
1993, her senior season, she led the nation in both hitting (.510
batting average) and pitching (0.25 ERA).
