Speaks Out

Has the alleged sale of bodies and body parts by UCLA employees
affected your outlook on the integrity of the medical center?
Katie Sarkarati First-year, undeclared “The
(alleged) fact that somebody at the (medical center) violated the
trust of the donors, that’s definitely something to worry
about.” Matt Guibert Third-year, cognitive
science
“Not really. This is one separate situation.
I wouldn’t affiliate (the employee who sold the bodies) with
UCLA. I don’t think any less of the medical center.”
Scott Botterman Second-year, pre-business
economics
“This is something that shouldn’t
happen, especially considering that (the bodies) are donated by
families and they did it for a reason. It’s a shame to see
this happen.” Ted Ling Fourth-year,
psychobiology
“Not really. I’m hoping that
they’ll take me. I don’t think I know enough about the
topic of what happened, but so far it hasn’t affected my view
of the medical center.” Compiled by Garin Hovannisian,
