Moore’s speeches equate to hypocrisy,
greed

I’m tired of the lies of Michael Moore and the
brainwashing that has made him the rich director that he is today.
He goes on and on about the money-hungry Republicans and corporate
greed, but when it comes time to put words into action, Moore is no
better than the “greedy Republicans.”

He came here, to a college campus, to spread his message ““
and made money in the process. If his message is as important as he
would like us to believe, then why wouldn’t he give a couple
hours of his time to his cause? Simply put, Moore is a blathering
hypocrite.

Republicans must improve protest skills to effect
change

On Tuesday Michael Moore came to speak to UCLA, and the Bruin
Republicans were protesting his speech. Look, I know you guys are
new at this, but let me give you some tips when it comes to
protesting.

First of all, don’t aimlessly walk in a circle ““ you
won’t get your point across. Maybe someone could write a
catchy song, or do a dance or maybe show some gruesome pictures of
Michael Moore gorging himself on lots of food.

You guys definitely have some work to do. Perhaps that’s
why your MEChA protest wasn’t all that effective.

Second, pick a cause that will actually benefit people.
Aren’t you upset that weapons of mass destruction
weren’t found in Iraq?

How about the effects of rising health care costs?

Or about how a conservative has turned the biggest government
surplus into the largest projected budget deficit?

Even if Moore goes away, the problems will still exist. Get your
priorities right ““ and good luck on your future protests.

It’s time to reflect a unique mascot with
Bruinwear

Let’s face it, there are many schools associated with a
bear as a mascot. However, there is only one university that
reveres the mighty Bruin bear. That’s UCLA. We shout
“BRUINS” at all the sporting events, we wear it across
our chests, and we identify ourselves as Bruins, not bears.

So it makes perfect sense to rename BearWear as Bruinwear. I
only hope it doesn’t take forever to do so. I’m raising
future Bruins and want them to know the pride I have in being a
Bruin alumna!
