Credit VNLC for UCLA Tet Festival

As I read the Daily Bruin article “New Year traditions
rich in symbolism” (News, Feb. 14), I was a bit confused. The
photo caption stated that the annual Tet Festival at UCLA was
hosted by the Vietnamese Student Union. As the VSU webmaster and
historian, I was puzzled about whether a mistake had been made in
giving us credit or if we had just taken the credit somewhere down
the line. After discussing the publication with my fellow staff
members, we determined the Daily Bruin had made a mistake since no
one on our staff had claimed credit for the event.

VSU would like to clarify that the annual Tet Festival at UCLA
was hosted by the Vietnamese Language and Culture organization, not
by VSU. All the credits of that wonderful night belong to VNLC, and
I believe all praises and good wishes should go to them because
they put in the work, and they deserve the recognition for it.
