Ashe Center values feedback
In her cartoon (Sept. 24), Julia Wolinsky depicts a scene that
suggests the Ashe Center trivializes serious injuries and student
health problems. As a member of the Student Health Advisory
Committee, I read and pay attention to the feedback that is given
to the Ashe Center in the form of student comment cards and survey
results, which as a whole are positive.
We are committed to working to solicit feedback from students on
their experiences at the Ashe Center.
Any constructive feedback, both negative and positive, is most
welcome, and it is a major tool for all the various health services
at UCLA to get an accurate and representative indication of what is
and what isn’t working. Feedback can be given on the comment
cards available inside the Ashe Center, on the Ashe Center Web site
at www.studenthealth.ucla.edu, or by e-mailing SHAC at
[email protected].
While it is unfortunate that Wolinsky has such a negative
impression of Student Health Services, drawing a cartoon doubting
the sincerity of the Ashe Center staff is misleading to the general
campus population.
The Student Health Advisory Committee, the Ashe Center and all
the other health-related departments on the UCLA campus are highly
dedicated to delivering high-quality service and compassionate care
to students.
