Women’s golf places fifth

Team comes back after tiebreaker, won't play again until February

The No. 1 UCLA women’s golf team finished fifth at the Collegiate Match Play Championship on Tuesday in Orlando, Fla.

After losing in a tiebreaker during Monday’s first round, the Bruins bounced back to climb into fifth, capping off three days of play with a 4-1 win against Auburn in the fifth-place match.

Duke ultimately won the title, defeating Alabama 4-1 to win the championship.

The Bruins don’t play again until February, when they enter the Regional Challenge in Palos Verdes.
