We asked students on campus whether or not they would vote to approve the CURE referendum, which would increase student fees by $3 per quarter to fund student groups. Here’s what they had to say:

Eric Ruiz
Third-year, history
“Although it is a small fee, I do not support it because I think we need to try as hard as possible to decrease fees and tuition.”

Evan Freethy
Second-year, mathematics/economics
“I have no clue what the money even goes to, and I don’t know how they would spend this money, so no, I wouldn’t vote yes on it.”

Lam Ho
Third-year, economics
“No, I wouldn’t support it because I heard they overspent last year.”

Mark Hernandez
Fourth-year, international development studies
“I’d vote for it, because $3 isn’t much, and I feel like the cause is worth it.”

Tiffany Lee
Fourth-year, psychobiology
“It depends on where it would go, but I feel like they keep cutting student funding even though fees keep going up. So I don’t support it.”

Yuliana Gutierrez
Alumna, biology
“I’d vote yes. I feel like $3 isn’t much and it is worth it for funding for student groups.”
