UCLA men’s basketball player Travis Wear hospitalized with appendicitis

UCLA men’s basketball redshirt senior forward Travis Wear was hospitalized Monday afternoon with appendicitis.

UCLA Athletics announced that Wear, who averaged 10.9 points and 5.2 rebounds last season, missed Monday’s practice and was taken to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. There is currently no timetable for his recovery and return to the court.

UCLA has an exhibition game on Wednesday Oct. 30 against Cal State San Bernardino and begins its regular season next Friday, Nov. 8 against Drexel.
