UCLA’s men’s and women’s basketball teams will participate in preseason festivities and interact with fans tonight at the Bruin Hoops Madness event.

The event, part of UCLA’s Homecoming festivities, will feature several types of games, including a knockout game involving both players and fans and a slam dunk contest between junior guard Norman Powell and freshman guard Zach LaVine, who demonstrated his dunking abilities on Wednesday with an alley-oop as his first collegiate basket.

Men’s basketball coach Steve Alford will also address students at the event, as he and his team continue to prepare for their regular season opener on Nov. 8 against Drexel.

Bruin Hoops Madness will begin at 9 p.m. in Pauley Pavilion following the Homecoming Festival.
