CARY, N.C. — The UCLA women’s soccer team advanced to the College Cup finals with a gritty comeback win against Virginia Friday night. After Virginia took a 1-0 lead in the 73rd minute, UCLA equalized with a goal from Ally Courtnall with five minutes left in regulation. After two scoreless overtime periods, the Bruins won the penalty kick shootout 4-2, thanks in large part to two saves from junior goalkeeper Katelyn Rowland. The team will play for a chance to win UCLA’s 110th national title when it takes on Florida State in the championship Sunday at noon PST.
