UCPD report attempted robbery on UCLA campus

University police arrested a 23-year-old man near Janss Steps Friday afternoon in connection with an attempted on-campus robbery.

A UCLA student called police about 1 p.m. Friday to report that a man, was following and threatening him because he wanted the person’s iPhone, said UCPD spokeswoman Nancy Greenstein.

Police responded to the call and arrested Robert Andrews, Greenstein said.

Andrews is currently being held in custody at UCPD, she said.

The case investigation is ongoing. No further information was immediately available.
