The No. 1 UCLA women’s golf team finished in third place at its first tournament of the year in Orlando, Florida.

The ANNIKA Intercollegiate Presented by 3M started Sunday and finished Tuesday, with No. 2 USC ultimately taking home first place.

The Bruins closed out round two of the tournament in first place – holding onto a two-stroke lead over No. 12 Arkansas. UCLA shot a 5-over 293 Tuesday, though, to fall into third place.

Lilia Vu entered day three in first place overall, but dropped to second with a 1-over 73 to end the tournament. The sophomore settled for a 10-under 206, a personal-best performance that dropped her to second place in a field of 60 golfers.

Three of Vu’s teammates also made the top 30. Sophomore Bethany Wu tied for 14th with four birdies, senior Bronte Law tied for 21st with a 3-under 213, and freshman Mariel Galdiano tied for 27th with an even-par performance.

Overall, UCLA closed out the tournament 20 under par and finished first in both par-3 and par-4 scoring.
