The UCLA men’s soccer team failed to capitalize on several goal-scoring opportunities Thursday night at Drake stadium as the game against San Diego State ended in a 0-0 draw.
The Bruins (9-7-2, 4-5-1 Pac-12) missed out not only on a win, but also on securing the third spot in the Pac-12 standings, a spot in the NCAA Tournament and the momentum that would have came with a victory over No. 16 San Diego State (9-4-5, 4-3-3).
The game was even in other aspects besides the score. Both teams had five shots on goal, five saves and were separated by only two and three fouls and shots, respectively.
The team’s postseason fate now rest on the NCAA selection committee, which will field out a bracket in which UCLA hopes to be included.
