UCLA women’s basketball’s season opener has been postponed because of a delay in Cal State Fullerton’s COVID-19 testing, according to UCLA Athletics.

The Bruins and Titans will now face off Friday at Pauley Pavilion.

The game was supposed to take place at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, but just minutes before the game was supposed to start, the program announced the game was being delayed and that it would provide updates later. UCLA was originally on the court to warm up but later cleared the hardwood while awaiting Fullerton’s test results.

UCLA last played a game on March 7, with the remainder of its 2019-2020 season canceled because of COVID-19. With the canceled game today, the Bruins will have to wait until 4 p.m. Friday before they step on the court in an actual game.

After the Fullerton game, UCLA’s next game is scheduled for Sunday at Pepperdine.
