Lexi Fitzgerald plays bass for The New Respects, the Nashville-based opening band.

The New Respects lead singer and guitarist Jasmine Mullen plays alongside her three cousins.

Switchfoot performed as the second act. Lead singer Jon Foreman holds a banner with the words “Where We Belong” out to the crowd.

Tim Foreman, Jon’s brother, plays bass for Switchfoot. The band won a Grammy for “Hello Hurricane” as the Best Rock Gospel Album in 2010.

Jon Foreman raises his guitar above his head during Switchfoot’s eight-song set. Besides leading Switchfoot, Foreman has also released multiple solo extended plays.

Jon Foreman climbs onto a platform and steps onto the drum kit while singing, then jumps backward onto the stage.

Jon Foreman holds his mic up to guitarist Drew Shirley’s hands as he plays. Foreman roamed the stage, fist-bumping crowd members and jamming close to his bandmates.

Headliner NEEDTOBREATHE began their set around 8:50 p.m. Lead singer and guitarist Bear Rinehart wore a cowboy hat throughout most of the concert.

NEEDTOBREATHE’s bassist Seth Bolt used a tambourine for some songs. The South Carolina-based band incorporates rock, folk and gospel influences into their music.

Screens behind the stage included details reinforcing songs. The word “outsiders” was displayed during NEEDTOBREATHE’s performance of their song “Outsiders”.

Josh Lovelace of NEEDTOBREATHE closes his eyes while playing the piano.

Throughout the performance, Rinehart climbed onto small risers across the stage to play closer to the audience.

Jon Foreman of Switchfoot features on NEEDTOBREATHE’s “Carry Me” and returns to the Greek Theatre stage to perform with the band.

Near the end of the show, The New Respects joined Jon Foreman and NEEDTOBREATHE for an ensemble cover of “When the Levee Breaks.” Jasmine Mullen and Darius Fitzgerald of The New Respects took the mic.

Rinehart’s hat was placed on a stage with a spotlight as the band prepared for their encore performance. Guitarist Tyler Burkum began to play solo before the rest of NEEDTOBREATHE took the stage.

NEEDTOBREATHE ends the night with a self-reflective song about making mistakes and growing up, “West Texas Wind,” before taking off their guitars and leaving the confetti-covered stage.
