Located on the outskirts of downtown Los Angeles, Historic Filipinotown, or HiFi, became one of the five Asian Pacific Islander ethnic neighborhoods in Los Angeles with its designation of a historic cultural neighborhood in 2002. Since then, various pieces of art showcasing Filipino culture have been added to the area, the most recent being a 30-foot-tall gateway over the neighborhood’s eastern entrance.
