Anna Spain Bradley, vice chancellor for equity, diversity and inclusion, will step down from her role June 30, the university announced Thursday.
Spain Bradley, who has held the role since September 2020, helped advance initiatives such as the UCLA EDI Education Series and the Native American and Pacific Islander Bruins Rising Initiative, said Darnell Hunt, executive vice chancellor and provost, in a campuswide email announcement.
She also oversaw change to UCLA’s EDI infrastructure through the creation of the UCLA EDI Civil Rights Office, unifying several of UCLA’s Title IX and discrimination investigation units, Hunt added.
Spain Bradley will become Hunt’s special advisor on strategic planning and values after stepping down. The university will share plans for an interim replacement when they are available, the announcement added.
“Chancellor Block and I are grateful to Vice Chancellor Spain Bradley for advancing our institutional values including making UCLA a better place for Bruins of different backgrounds and identities,” Hunt said in the email. “During a period of unprecedented demands on the EDI office, she has worked to ensure that our university is welcoming and supportive of all.”
