After losing to Liberty and Grand Canyon consecutively last weekend, the Bruins faced an early exit in their quest for an appearance in the Women’s College World Series.

Pomeroy-Tso is the 2022-2023 alumni director. She was a 2021-2022 Copy chief and a 2020-2021 slot editor. She is now Copy senior staff and has also contributed to Sports, Photo and The Quad. She is a fourth-year communication and human biology and society student.

David Rimer |

Digital managing editor

Rimer is the 2022-2023 digital managing editor. He was previously the 2021-2022 assistant Photo editor on the Sports beat and a staff photographer. He is a History major in his fourth year at UCLA.

Academic student workers and graduate student researchers represented by the United Auto Workers union recently ended a nearly six-week strike in which they called for better working conditions and equitable wages. The contract stipulates pay increases for all workers – for some, pay increases of up to 80% – as well as anti-harassment policies and increased childcare support. However, the negotiations have struck controversy among some UAW members dissatisfied with the results of the contract. What are your thoughts on this issue? Only the voices of the bargaining team were heard during the negotiation process – the contract is not all-encompassing of student workers and should not have been ratified. The mediation resulted in a realistic contract for academic workers at this time. The agreed-upon result generally covered what the strikers were asking for. I have feelings about this that are not described in the options above. The contract is neither good nor bad and/or this issue does not directly affect me as a student.
