UCPD recorded 1,167 unique entries in its June and July daily crime log.
University police received 252 crime reports in June and July that resulted in active police cases.
Of the 115 crime reports resulting in cases, 116 were open cases and 136 were closed or inactive as of Aug 1, according to a UCPD crime and fire log.
In June, theft and burglary was the most common category, with 65 reports resulting in cases, followed by 26 reports of drug and controlled substance, according to the log.
In July, theft and burglary was the most common category, with 38 reports resulting in cases, followed by 18 reports of traffic and vehicular, according to the log.
UCPD also recorded 915 events that did not result in active cases, with the following statuses as of Aug 1:

Of the 915 incidents not resulting in cases, 13 were categorized as rape or other sex crime. UCPD categorized four events as rape reports, four as sexual battery reports and 5 as indecent exposure reports.
Data for this story was obtained as a public record under the Jeanne Clery Act, which requires universities to report campus crime data.
