UCPD searches for suspects in on-campus hate crime and unlawful BB gun discharge



UCPD is searching for the suspects in a hate crime and unlawful discharge of a BB gun on campus Sunday.

The suspects were reportedly in a vehicle and allegedly approached a victim and struck the victim with a BB gun early Sunday morning, according to a UCPD crime alert sent Monday afternoon. The on-campus alleged incident took place on De Neve Drive near Rieber Hall at around 1:30 a.m.

The rear passenger yelled a homophobic slur and shot at the victim with a white BB gun, according to the alert.

The first suspect – the driver – was reportedly male and wearing a black ski mask. The second suspect – the rear passenger – was also male, and the vehicle was a white four door sedan, according to the alert.

According to the alert, the victim was a UCLA student and was reportedly hit by the BB gun below the eye, suffering an abrasion.
