A Roebling fire broke out early Saturday morning.

A fire began on Roebling Avenue around 12:30 a.m. Saturday. A couch, a chair and a toilet were among the objects in the fire.

UCPD arrived at the scene around 12:35 a.m., followed by an LAFD fire truck shortly before 12:40 a.m. LAFD – which responds to night calls instead of the UC Fire Department – put the fire out shortly after.

Fires on Roebling Avenue have been occurring for around six years, with no consistent pattern of being set. They are often accompanied by a large number of student attendees.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
