CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. – Ballots are transported to the LA County Ballot Processing Center by the LA County Sheriff’s department by boat, car and helicopter, said Sheriff Robert G. Luna, adding that the department has been preparing for this night for over one year.

“We have bomb-sniffing dogs, narcotic dogs, that are sniffing through a lot of the ballots coming in to make sure we’re keeping our poll workers safe,” Luna said. “My job is to be concerned, because until this is over and everybody’s safe and everything went well, I’ll (be able to) take a deep breath.”
