In the news:

In an emailed statement, Seán Devine, senior emergency management specialist at the UCLA Office of Emergency Management, said the university’s emergency response plans range from shelter-in-place orders to a full evacuation of campus in regards to the Palisades fire, which has burned over 700 acres, according to KTLA 5.

“Although wildfire smoke is visible from the Westwood campus, this does not necessarily mean there is a threat to campus,” Devine said. “The Palisades Fire is currently burning toward Topanga Canyon/Malibu and the National Weather Service is forecasting wildfire smoke to remain over Santa Monica Bay.”
