Los Angeles County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone said at the press conference that the Palisades fire has now been mapped to 10,600 acres, is still growing and is at 0% containment.
“We have over 750 firefighting personnel assigned on the line and mutual aid resources from out of state, including Arizona, have arrived to assist us with this firefight,” he said at the conference. “The cause of the fire is unknown and under active investigation by the Los Angeles County Fire Department, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and the U.S. Forest Service arson investigators.”
Marrone also said at the press conference that the firefighting personnel has been bolstered by units from Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Oregon, Washington and New Mexico.
