In the news:

Administrative Vice Chancellor Michael Beck, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Personnel Michael Levine and Associate Vice Chancellor of Campus Human Resources Lubbe Levin sent an email to all UCLA employees explaining university procedures for those impacted by the fires.

The three campus administrators said in the email that employees can donate vacation leave hours to colleagues who need time off because they have lost family or household members. The university also offers administrative lead, emergency loans and emergency housing to employees impacted by fires or fire evacuations, they said in the email.

Evacuees can also access discounted hotel rates at the UCLA Meyer and Renee Luskin Conference Center, the Inn at UCLA and the UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge, they said in the email.

“Our heartfelt thanks go out to those battling the fires and providing medical attention, food and lodging for the displaced,” they said in the email. “We also appreciate our UCLA team members in the health system and on campus, some of whom have experienced losses themselves this week, as they are working tirelessly to help keep our campus secure and are providing comfort and care to our Bruin and greater L.A. community.”
