In the news:

In an BruinPost sent early Sunday afternoon, Vice Chancellor for Research and Creative Activities Roger Wakimoto and Administrative Vice Chancellor Michael Beck said principal investigators and research group leaders must “ramp down” nonessential research activities taking place in laboratories on campus. The administrators added that the directive does not apply to essential research or projects to which “irreparable harm” would be done by such a pause.

UCLA is currently not under an evacuation warning or order as of 1:10 p.m. Sunday, though an evacuation warning due to the Palisades fire currently borders campus. In the email, Wakimoto and Beck said all research — essential and nonessential — would be paused in the event that an evacuation of campus is ordered.
