Most schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District will reopen Monday, according to a press release posted on the district’s website. Resources – including substitute coverage – have been prepared for employees who have been impacted by fires and open schools will limit outdoor activity, the district said in the press release.

‘We have considered a number of factors, including improved fire containment, air quality, wind conditions, utility availability, road accessibility, school-site readiness and staffing,” the district said in a 4 p.m. press release Sunday.

UCLA will continue to have remote instruction until January 19, Chancellor Julio Frenk said in a Saturday campus-wide email. However, as of 6:30 p.m. Sunday, there are no evacuation warnings or orders covering the campus.

UCLA-run schools – including the Geffen Academy – will communicate directly with parents and families about whether instruction will continue in person, Frenk said in the Saturday email.
