UCLA is taking action to support the local community amid ongoing fires across Los Angeles County, Chancellor Julio Frenk said in a Tuesday campus wide email.

“As just a few examples, our UCLA Homeless Healthcare Collaborative is working with displaced fire victims, our UCLA Volunteer Center is making 500 emergency packages for community members in need and our registrar’s office is offering free diploma replacement for alumni who may have lost their diplomas in the fires,” he said in the email.

UCLA has also donated space at the UCLA Research Park – formerly the Westside Pavilion – to the Federal Emergency Management Agency to establish a Disaster Relief Center, Frenk said in the email. The university is also taking donations to student and employee wildfire relief funds, he said.

As of 2:20 p.m. Tuesday, there are no evacuation warnings or orders in place for the UCLA campus.
