Two unions that employ workers across the UC are set to strike starting Wednesday, with implications expected to be felt across the UCLA.

AFSCME Local 3299 has called for its members to strike until Thursday, while UPTE-CWA 9119 is set to strike until Friday. Both unions are protesting issues they have had with the University at the bargaining table and the implementation of University policies that they allege restrict speech.

Several UCLA Dining Halls are expected to be closed Wednesday and Thursday, with disruptions also anticipated for mail and custodial services.
