As of 2:40 p.m., the UPTE-CWA 9119 strikers put away their signs at their tent in front of the UCLA Health Medical Plaza. The picketing was scheduled to end at 3 p.m., said River Sween, a workplace representative for UPTE-CWA 9119 and a clinical research coordinator for hematology-oncology research at a UCLA Health clinic in Santa Monica.

UCLA classes will move to online instruction until Friday. The Academic Senate authorized classes to be held online for both undergraduate and graduate students, said Chancellor Julio Frenk in a Saturday campuswide email. Although UCLA does not currently have any evacuation orders or warnings, areas less than a mile away from campus are under evacuation order because of the Palisades fire.
