Students and community members will vote in the upcoming North Westwood Neighborhood Council election March 18.
Of the 19 board seats up for election, three seats are reserved for UCLA students – with two undergraduate student seats and one graduate student seat. There are 14 students and faculty members running for seats.
Anyone who lives, works, attends school or is in a community organization in North Westwood can vote, regardless of citizenship status, according to the NWWNC website. Voters can cast the ballot by mail, with ballots postmarked before March 18 counted.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old to run, meet all requirements for their board seat and become certified as official candidates to stand in the election.
The NWWNC is one of 99 Los Angeles neighborhood councils established to ensure city government remains connected to the needs of each LA community.
Successful candidates will serve for two years terms.

- Samuel Matsumoto, a second-year public affairs student
- Jacob Lawson, a second-year public affairs student
- Arjun Pathiyal, a second-year economics and political science student
Graduate Student Board Member – one seat
- William Crosson, a graduate student in pharmacology
- Ben Passino, a graduate student in urban and regional planning
University Staff Board Member – one seat
- Jacob Wasserman, a research program manager at UCLA Institute of Transportation Studies
Faculty/Teaching Board Member – one seat
- Elsa Duval (incumbent), a lecturer in the department of European languages and transcultural studies
- Ridhima Iyer, faculty member at Fielding School of Public Health
Worker Board Member – one seat

Organizational Board Member – two seats
- William Holzer (incumbent), a second-year political science and statistics and data science student
- Tommy Contreras, a third-year political science and public affairs student
