Three UCPD officers sustained minor injuries while stopping a person riding a bicycle without proper lights between late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.
The incident took place around 12:01 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of La Grange Avenue and South Bundy Drive in Sawtelle, according to the UCPD daily crime and fire log. The person refused to stop riding the bicycle and resisted arrest, according to a UCPD post on the social media platform X.
Two officers and a sergeant were injured, according to the post, though all three were able to return to duty Thursday.
The incident followed another bicycle-related arrest Wednesday night, when UCPD arrested a person outside Pauley Pavilion for stealing a UCLA student’s electric bicycle.
