Gallery: Sundance Film Festival takes show on road in permanent move to Boulder, Colorado

The Sundance Film Festival is leaving Park City, Utah, for Boulder, Colorado, in 2027, Sundance Institute’s Board of Trustees announced in an email Friday.
The annual event, designed to highlight and support new filmmakers, was centered in the snow-capped mountains of Park City, Utah, for four decades. The event aims to present new works and foster creative, diverse storytelling. Robert Redford founded the institute in Park City, but the event is moving out because of a lack of proper infrastructure, according to Utah News Dispatch. This announcement follows the January 2025 festival, where thousands of visitors flocked to Park City for the event.
