Hollywood’s top television stars shone on the 2025 Emmys red carpet.

On Sept. 14, nominees for the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards strutted their stuff as cameras flashed and interviewers conversed among the actors and actresses. From traditional designer suits to whimsical color schemes and bold statement pieces, this year’s Emmys red carpet outfits did not disappoint. Offering the nominees a chance to express themselves and represent their respective television successes, many seized the opportunity with great flourish and style.

Keep reading for the Daily Bruin’s thoughts on some of the best looks at the 2025 Emmys red carpet.

Jenna Ortega, “Wednesday”

At this year’s Emmys red carpet, Jenna Ortega turned heads in a bejeweled ensemble that left little to the imagination.

She wore an almost-sheer, gem-encrusted “top” – an ornate network of crystals, pearls and gems that traced her neck down past her midriff – held together by silver chain links, with minimal fabric in sight. The edgy Givenchy piece was contrasted with a sleek, low-waisted black maxi skirt featuring a thigh-high slit. True to her trademark style, the outfit carried the daring, fashion-forward look she is known for on the red carpet. Ortega, who gained widespread acclaim for her starring role as Wednesday Addams in Netflix’s hit series “Wednesday,” echoed her character’s darkly sophisticated style in this ensemble.

The outfit’s styling leaned into Ortega’s signature gothic glam, with her hair pulled back into a ponytail and featuring smoky eyes, dark red lips and sharp cheekbones. Finished with minimal accessories to let the ensemble stand on its own, the look was bold, unapologetic and confidently expressive. Subtle diamond studs and a single silver ring on each hand added just a whisper of shine without distracting from the intricate jewels of her top.

Ortega proved that sometimes the real gems of the night are not always the trophies won, but the outfits worn.

Alan Cumming, “The Traitors”

Alan Cumming’s red carpet look was less “Traitor” and more truth – fashion is political.

Clad in a chic, gender-fluid twist on the traditional suit, the host of the Peacock reality hit “The Traitors” looked ravishing on the red carpet at the 2025 Primetime Emmy Awards. Now in his third year hosting the murder mystery competition series inspired by the Dutch show “De Verraders,” Cumming is leaving his mark on reality television. Before collecting the show’s fifth Emmy, Cumming strutted the red carpet in his Tanner Fletcher design and looked nothing short of fabulous while doing so.

Cumming’s slightly loose black suit featured white trim and a luxuriously large bow around his neck. The look was styled with a subtle white eye shadow, slicked back hair and a gleaming pair of shiny black Bottega Veneta dress shoes.

In addition to the glamor, Cumming continued his signature red carpet activism with his look. Hooked to a safety pin on the lapel of his suit jacket was a small row of heart charms arranged in the colors of the transgender pride flag, honoring trans visibility.

As he often does, Cumming turned the red carpet into a runway and a statement of allyship.

LISA, “The White Lotus”

Lalisa Manobal, better known as LISA, put the “pink” in BLACKPINK with her ethereal gown at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards.

The K-pop star and “The White Lotus” actress stunned in an off-the-shoulder pink tulle gown with a thigh-high slit and an asymmetrical, flowing train that looked like it was pulled straight from Glinda the Good Witch’s closet. Manobal topped off her outfit with glimmering pink Christian Louboutin pumps and a statement snake necklace – a clever reference to the “White Lotus” season three motif. Although the show tied for third place with 23 nominations, it only secured one award for Original Main Title Theme Music.

Manobal’s look was the perfect blend of classic and flashy, using a simple color scheme but a unique silhouette and bold, ribbon-laced texture. Her BVLGARI jewelry – the snake necklace and matching ring, bracelet and earrings – complemented the hues of the look and was showy enough to make an impression but not detract from her Lever Couture gown. Manobal’s silky, wavy hairstyle and soft glam makeup reflected the delicacy of the look while keeping the attention on its own style of uniqueness.

In her Emmys debut, the “Alter Ego” artist looked nothing short of a “Dream.”

Tramell Tillman, “Severance”

Winner Tramell Tillman commanded the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards red carpet with a smile as bright as his outfit.

The “Severance” star – who plays antagonist Seth Milchick on the Apple TV+ series – wore a crisp, all-white double-breasted tuxedo that struck the perfect balance between classic elegance and modern swagger. Leading up to his momentous Emmy win for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series and heartwarming speech dedicated to his mother, Tillman dazzled the 4 p.m. red carpet in a customized Dolce & Gabbana suit, which he paired with Boucheron jewelry and an Audemars Piguet timepiece. Dressed to the nines and elegant as ever, not only did Tillman earn his first Emmy nomination and title, but he also became the first Black man to win the category.

With a winning aura, the 40-year-old actor’s jacket had strong shoulders and precise tailoring, softened by the monochromatic styling of a white bow tie and shirt. A subtle brooch pinned to his lapel added just the right amount of shimmer, and wide-legged trousers draped cleanly to the floor, breaking slightly over glossy black shoes that grounded the otherwise luminous look. The ensemble was sharp yet understated, letting the immaculate cut and tonal cohesion speak louder than excess embellishment. With his neat beard and confident stance, Tillman’s look radiated sophistication, authority and quiet confidence.

Tillman severed the competition in half, starting with his charming red carpet appearance.
